Serial # 23474057It's a walk in the park eight days a week with the Gibson Hummingbird Standard in Vintage Cherry Sunburst. As one of Gibson's most enduring and popular acoustic models, this little number carries with it distinct Gibson style and sound to impress.
The Gibson Hummingbird Standard starts out simply with a comfortable and spacious mahogany and select Sitka spruce body. With a bright, sweet tone to match its bright, sweet color, this classic match of tonewoods sings with grace for anyone to fall head over heels for. The Sitka spruce top features five-ply binding with a three-ply binding along the back, accentuating the guitar's curvature and highlighting its rosy, Cherry finish. Tying the top together is the iconic Gibson Hummingbird pickguard that impresses with an intricate and ornate pattern.
Extending from this finely constructed body is a mahogany neck shaped in a rounded profile. Perfect for easy playing across the full length, this neck is matched with an Indian rosewood fingerboard bearing twenty frets. These frets are outfitted with Mother of Pearl parallelogram inlays to punctuate the rosewood's redness and add up to a dazzling visual sum. Across its body, the Hummingbird Standard is fitted with a Reverse Belly rosewood bridge that grounds strings solidly with a TUSQ saddle and a set of TUSQ bridge pins. Landing at the opposite end of this guitar, a TUSQ nut and six Grover Rotomatic tuning machines make for solid intonation and easy string changes.
In hand, the Hummingbird Standard is a stellar instrument for sweet, acoustic tonality. Plugged in, the experience only gets more colorful. The Hummingbird Standard is equipped with LR Baggs VTC electronics which make for an easy translation of acoustic tones to amplified performance. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow for quick adjustment of the plugged-in character of the Hummingbird to accommodate any acoustic performance. Finally, this Hummingbird Standard travels with an included Gibson hardshell case for safe moves from stage to stage. Altogether, the Hummingbird is fitted for practice, performance, and everything in between.
Gibson's acoustics have a comparable status of style and quality to their legendary electrics. For those energetic Hummingbird fans out there, this entry to the Gibson acoustic line has all the charm and sound needed to keep the legacy rolling night after night, stage after stage.
